Job Description

Overview

DC Aviation Ltd is building a small, cross-functional team responsible for documentation, process improvement, automation and AI enablement across the whole company. We are looking for a Digital Transformation Specialist to join as a core member of this team, working alongside two colleagues and reporting directly to the Managing Director.

This is a build-and-grow role, and it is deliberately organisation-wide. You'll work across the all departments for improving and digitizing how we work using technology and AI tools, with a focus on efficiency, standardisation and scalability. The goal is to build clear, shared, resilient processes that make company knowledge easy to find, maintain and reuse.

No prior aviation experience is required. We care far more about curiosity, structured thinking and a real willingness to build.

What you'll do

  • Work with teams across the organisation to understand how they work and where things can be improved.
  • Document current workflows and design clearer, more standardised ways of working — capturing knowledge from meetings, walkthroughs and notes into SOPs, runbooks and checklists.
  • Build and maintain practical automations and small tools — writing and adapting scripts where needed, with AI helping you move faster — turning recurring manual work into reliable, documented processes.
  • Work in version control (Git/GitHub) as standard, keeping changes organised, traceable and reviewable.
  • Help roll out and improve digital and AI tools across departments, then test and refine them with the people who use them.
  • Support the company's AI setup by structuring context, prompts, tool connections and human review points, and help colleagues use approved AI tools confidently and safely.
  • Work within, and help maintain, the Internal AI Use Policy and AI Literacy Training Curriculum.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience with a workflow automation platform (Windmill, n8n, Make, Zapier or custom scripts also welcome).
  • Scripting experience in Python (Node.js or PowerShell also welcome).
  • Experience in a regulated or structured environment (aviation, finance, medical, pharma) where documentation and audit evidence matter.
  • Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP), RAG, or tools such as Microsoft Copilot and enterprise AI assistants generally.
  • Awareness of the EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689).

Requirements
  • Structured, process-oriented thinking, and the ability to turn messy information into clear documentation.

  • Genuine curiosity about AI and digital tools, and a hands-on, "let me build it" attitude.

  • Comfortable building real solutions, not just using ready-made tools. You don't need to be a senior software engineer, but you should be able and willing to write

  • Comfortable with Git/GitHub and Markdown, or able to become productive in them quickly.

  • Clear written and spoken English, and the confidence to work with both non-technical colleagues and senior leadership.

  • Open to learning the aviation regulatory environment; curiosity and respect for it matter more than experience

  • Eligible to work in Malta, or able to secure the right to work within a short timeframe

Benefits
  • Shape how an established international aviation group adopts AI and digital tools.

  • Work directly with leadership, with full visibility across the transformation programme.

  • Grow into a key role as the programme expands, with broad exposure across the business.

  • A modern AI and automation environment, attractive remuneration based on experience, health insurance after one year of service, and further training and benefits within an international aviation group.
